MAX Power Mining Prepares Lawson 5 Step-Out to Test Scale of Natural Hydrogen Genesis Trend in Saskatchewan

MAX Power Mining Corp. (CSE: MAXX; OTC: MAXXF; FRANKFURT: 89N) is preparing to mobilize Savanna Drill Rig #629 and crew for Lawson 5, the largest step-out to date from its Lawson Complex Natural Hydrogen Discovery in Saskatchewan. The well will target an area approximately 27 to 31 kilometers northeast of the Lawson 1 through Lawson 4 wells, according to the company's announcement disseminated on behalf of MAX Power Mining. This step-out is designed to test the scale potential of the broader Genesis Trend both across a 30-km mobile belt and along the 475-km Salt Wall extending toward the North Dakota border.

The move follows the successful casing and cementing of Lawson 4, which encountered the highest natural hydrogen readings to date at Lawson, along with a thick basal Cambrian reservoir featuring high permeability and porosity. Those characteristics are critical for commercial viability because they suggest the reservoir can hold and transmit significant volumes of gas. MAX Power is also planning near-term completions programs at Lawson and Bracken, where independent evaluation identified multiple prospective natural hydrogen and helium zones. Data from the expanded drilling and completions programs will feed MAXX LEMI, the company's AI-assisted proprietary platform, which could accelerate target identification and reduce exploration risk.

For the mining and raw materials sector, this development matters because natural hydrogen is increasingly viewed as a primary energy resource that could be extracted similarly to conventional gas, without the need for manufactured green hydrogen. If the Genesis Trend proves scalable, it could open a new district-scale play in North America, attracting further exploration investment and potentially reshaping energy supply chains. Saskatchewan's regulatory environment and existing oil and gas infrastructure may provide a pathway to rapid development if volumes are confirmed. The company's dominant district-scale land position of approximately 1.3 million acres (521,000 hectares) in Saskatchewan gives it a first-mover advantage in what could become a significant new hydrogen province.

MAX Power also holds a portfolio of critical minerals properties in the United States and Canada, highlighted by a 2024 diamond drilling discovery at the Willcox Playa Lithium Project in southeast Arizona, 100% owned by its U.S. subsidiary. That project adds exposure to the lithium supply chain at a time of rising demand for battery metals.
