Western Star Soil Survey Returns 0.53% WO3 at Rowland Tungsten Property

Western Star Resources Inc. (CSE: WSR) (OTC: WSRIF) (FRA: 4K2) announced results from a Phase 2 soil geochemical survey at its Rowland Tungsten Property in Elko County, Nevada, defining two discrete tungsten-in-soil anomalies that extend beyond historical workings.

The survey collected 315 soil samples, returning a peak value of 4,240 ppm tungsten (0.53% WO3) at sample R079, located 250 metres from the nearest historical working on ground with no recorded past activity. CEO and President Blake Morgan stated, “These results show the methodical exploration approach is paying off. We have defined two significant soil anomalies over the historical workings and extended the recognised footprint well beyond them. Northern Zone B is the tighter of the two, a compact cluster elongate to the northeast, sitting within the modelled intrusive. Rowland Main is the larger footprint, and its best sample, 0.53% WO3, lies 250 metres from the nearest historical working on ground with no recorded past activity. That is the part that interests us most: the strongest result came from ground nobody has tested.”

The Rowland Main anomaly spans approximately 190 by 630 metres, defined by 18 anomalous samples. Six samples exceed 100 ppm W, with R079 also returning 66.9 ppm Sn, the highest tin value in the survey, suggesting a greisen-modified skarn system. The Northern Zone B anomaly covers 190 by 190 metres, with 13 anomalous samples peaking at 228 ppm W. It is centered on rock-chip samples RO-18-01 to RO-18-03, which previously returned 0.35% to 1.22% WO3, as announced in July 2026.

The two anomalies occupy different geophysical settings. Northern Zone B lies within a modelled intrusive body resolved by a three-dimensional magnetic inversion, while Rowland Main is associated with an interpreted magnetic-high lineament. These results will be integrated with the completed UAV magnetic survey, the 3D inversion, and the July 2026 rock-chip and channel assay results to advance drill target generation across the consolidated Jarbidge-Charleston tungsten footprint.

Soil geochemistry from the nearby White Star Tungsten Project (253 samples) remains pending and will be reported when received. The company maintains rigorous QA/QC protocols, submitting samples to ALS Global for analysis by lithium borate fusion and ICP-MS, with WO3 values calculated using a conversion factor of 1.2611. Soil geochemical values represent surficial dispersion and are not indicative of grade or mineral resources.

For readers tracking critical minerals, these results underscore the potential for new tungsten discoveries in a historically productive district. Tungsten is essential for defense, aerospace, and manufacturing, and supply chain diversification remains a priority. Western Star’s systematic exploration could lead to a significant domestic resource, reducing reliance on imports. The company’s focus on past-producing assets in Nevada and New Mexico aligns with growing demand for critical minerals. As exploration advances, further updates are expected from the White Star project and drill target refinement. For more details, see the original release on www.newmediawire.com.
