Targa Exploration Advances Discovery Pipeline with New Gold Find in Quebec and First-Ever Drilling in Argentina

Targa Exploration Corp. (CSE: TEX; OTCQB: TRGEF; FRA: V6Y) is advancing a portfolio of early-stage gold projects in Quebec and Argentina, according to a recent interview with CEO Cameron Tymstra. The company highlighted its flagship Opinaca project in northern Quebec, where a maiden 2025 drill program intersected gold mineralization in seven of eight holes, leading to a new gold discovery. A follow-up program is underway, with 4,400 meters planned across 11 holes and drilling expected to be completed by mid-September.

The company is also progressing its discovery pipeline in Santa Cruz, Argentina, where it recently completed the first-ever drill program at its El Zanjon project. In addition, Targa is advancing the earlier-stage Venidero project to identify targets for potential future drilling in 2027. These efforts align with the company's strategy of taking calculated early-stage exploration risks in established mining jurisdictions to build a pipeline of potential gold discoveries.

The Opinaca project, located in the James Bay region of Quebec, is noted for its wide-spread gold mineralization discovered during the recent drill campaign. The project is situated in a region with significant mining infrastructure and adjacent to major gold deposits, which could enhance its development potential. The follow-up drilling aims to delineate the extent of the mineralization and test additional targets.

In Argentina, Targa is exploring the El Zanjon and Venidero projects, for which it has options to earn up to 80% equity interests. The El Zanjon project has shown promising gold-silver mineralization, and the first drill program there has provided valuable data for further exploration. The Venidero project is at an earlier stage, with target identification ongoing for a potential 2027 drill campaign.

This news is significant for the mining industry as it underscores the continued interest in early-stage exploration in established mining regions. Targa's approach of targeting grassroots discoveries in Quebec and Argentina could lead to new gold resources, which is crucial as the industry seeks to replace depleting reserves. For investors, the progress at these projects provides visibility into the company's exploration pipeline and its potential to create value through discovery.
