LaFleur Minerals Advances Toward Gold Production with Quick-Start Strategy and Trafigura Off-Take Agreement

LaFleur Minerals Inc. (CSE: LFLR) (OTCQB: LFLRF) is advancing toward gold production through a quick-start strategy that leverages existing stockpiles and a refurbished mill, with a prepaid facility and off-take agreement from Trafigura Canada Limited. The company expects to resume operations at its Beacon Gold Mill in the coming months, taking advantage of gold prices that remain well above historical averages despite a pullback from record highs.

LaFleur has been refurbishing the gold mill, which was operational under previous ownership until a temporary halt in 2022. The mill and the nearby Swanson Gold Deposit are located in the Abitibi Gold Belt in eastern Canada, one of the world's most prolific gold-producing regions. The Val d'Or community serves as a central hub for mining resources and staffing, providing logistical advantages for the operation.

The agreement with Trafigura, currently in due diligence, contemplates an off-take agreement for gold doré and potential future prepaid funding facilities as the operation scales. Trafigura is one of the world's largest independent commodity trading and logistics groups, lending credibility and financial backing to LaFleur's plans. This partnership is expected to provide the necessary capital to accelerate production and expand operations.

LaFleur's strategy focuses on utilizing existing stockpiles left by the previous operator, which allows for a rapid restart without the need for extensive new mining. The company aims to generate early cash flow to fund further development of the Swanson Gold Deposit and other exploration targets. The Abitibi Gold Belt has a long history of gold production, and LaFleur's assets are situated in a region with established infrastructure, including roads, power, and a skilled workforce.

The timing of LaFleur's restart aligns with a gold market that remains strong. While gold prices have moderated from January's record highs above $5,000, they are still significantly higher than levels seen two years ago. This provides a favorable environment for near-term gold producers to capitalize on elevated prices.
