Golden Cariboo Resources Ltd. (CSE:GCC) (OTC:GCCFF) (WKN:A402CQ) (FSE:3TZ) announced that independent consultants are in the final stages of preparing the company's inaugural Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for its Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property, located approximately 4 kilometres northeast of Hixon, British Columbia. The MRE will provide the first formal quantification of gold mineralization outlined through the company's drilling, exploration, and geological modelling programs, and will also incorporate historical exploration data. The company anticipates releasing the completed MRE upon receipt of its independent NI 43-101 technical report.
This milestone represents a significant step for Golden Cariboo as it consolidates years of exploration work into a single independent resource model. Frank Callaghan, President and CEO, expressed optimism about the progress: "This is an exciting time for Golden Cariboo, our shareholders and the region. Every drill hole, every assay result and every geological breakthrough has expanded our understanding of the Halo, North Hixon and Main zones. We are now approaching the point where all of that work will be consolidated into a single independent resource model, providing the first comprehensive technical snapshot of the project and our first step towards the next phase of development."
The Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property is historically significant, with the Quesnelle Quartz gold-silver deposit discovered in 1865. The property spans a 94,899 hectare area along a favourable geological corridor adjacent to the Spanish and Eureka thrust faults. The region has a rich placer gold history, with over 101 placer gold creeks on the 90-kilometre trend from the Cariboo Hudson mine north to the Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property having recorded production. The geological setting of the gold mineralization at the property shows strong similarities with the Spanish Mountain gold deposit, located 120 kilometres to the southeast, which is classified as a sediment-hosted vein (SHV) deposit belonging to the epizonal orogenic subclass. This subclass includes some of the world's largest gold deposits, such as Muruntau in Uzbekistan and Bendigo in Australia.
The release of the MRE is expected to provide a formal, independent assessment of the project's gold resources, which is a critical step for the company as it considers next-phase development. For investors and stakeholders, this will offer a clearer picture of the project's potential and help guide future strategic decisions. The MRE will also enhance the project's credibility as Golden Cariboo continues to explore and develop its assets in British Columbia's historic Cariboo mining district.
Golden Cariboo Resources Ltd. is focused on rediscovering the Cariboo Gold Rush through targeted drilling and trenching programs on its Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property. The property is bordered by Osisko Gold Group and is partly intertwined with them at the north end of the Cariboo Gold Project. The company's work is supported by successful placer mining in the area, which continues to this day.
As the company awaits the final technical report, the forthcoming MRE will mark a pivotal achievement in its development timeline, positioning the project for potential advancement.
