Angkor Resources Completes Initial Drilling at Andong Bor Copper-Gold Target in Cambodia

Angkor Resources Corp. (TSXV: ANK, OTCQB: ANKOF) has completed the initial phase of its diamond drilling program at the Andong Bor copper-gold target in Cambodia, intersecting notable porphyry and skarn mineralization. The company announced that the first 1,099 meters of a planned 2,800-meter program were drilled in mid-July, focusing on the Thmei North target, a one-square-kilometer copper anomaly.

The program is staged around Cambodia's seasonal weather, with the initial phase completed before the heaviest rains. The remaining 1,700 meters will be drilled in early 2027 once fields are dry and crops harvested, minimizing crop damage and easing access. Dennis Ouellette, VP Exploration, commented on the early results: “Two of the three holes drilled this year encountered good porphyry and skarn mineralization over the 400 meters each was drilled. Portions of skarn were especially well mineralized. The third hole contained a run of over 200 meters with continuous pyrite mineralization up to 20%.”

The three initial holes were oriented to the east to better intersect mineralized beds, based on 2025 drilling that showed the main structures controlling mineralization strike north-northwest and dip steeply to the west. This orientation is designed to maximize intersections of mineralized sedimentary rocks as the drill passes through alternating intrusive and sedimentary layers. The company is following a modified copper porphyry model where the best mineralization is found in potassic-altered sediments adjacent to feldspar porphyry diorite dikes of varying widths.

The core from the completed drilling is being logged, photographed, and sampled, with selected intervals sent for assay. Results will guide the second phase of drilling at Thmei North and activity at Thmei South in 2027. The Andong Bor license covers 100.28 square kilometers across Oddar Meanchey and Banteay Meanchey provinces.

This announcement is significant for the mining industry as it provides further evidence of copper-gold mineralization in Cambodia, a country with emerging mineral potential. The presence of porphyry and skarn mineralization, along with extensive pyrite, suggests a large hydrothermal system that could host economic deposits. The company's systematic approach, including drilling to intersect mineralized structures, demonstrates a methodical exploration strategy. Successful results could attract further investment into the region and contribute to Cambodia's developing mining sector.

Angkor Resources is a leading resource explorer and developer in Cambodia, with mineral exploration licenses covering multiple copper and gold prospects. The company also holds an onshore oil and gas license in Block VIII, covering approximately 4,095 square kilometers, and has identified multiple drill targets from 2D-seismic completed in 2025. The company plans to drill Cambodia's first privately financed onshore exploratory oil and gas wells under a Production Sharing Contract.
