Angkor Resources Commences 2,800-Meter Diamond Drilling at Andong Bor Copper-Gold Target in Cambodia

Angkor Resources Corp. (TSXV: ANK) announced on June 24, 2026, the commencement of a 2,800-meter diamond drilling program at its Andong Bor copper-gold target in Cambodia. The program, which will unfold over the next eight months, targets the Thmei North (TN) area, a one-square-kilometer copper anomaly within the 100.28-square-kilometer license that spans Oddar Meanchey and Banteay Meanchey provinces.

The initial phase consists of three 400-meter holes, totaling 1,200 meters, beginning immediately to take advantage of the current dry-season window. The remaining 1,600 meters are scheduled for early 2027, after the rainy season ends and crops are harvested. According to the company, the drilling strategy is informed by 2025 results, which revealed that mineralization is controlled by north-northwest striking, steeply west-dipping structures. By drilling eastward, the company aims to intersect mineralized beds perpendicularly, maximizing the interception of copper-bearing potassic-altered sediments adjacent to feldspar porphyry diorite dikes.

Dennis Ouellette, VP Exploration, explained: “Our 2025 drilling told us how this system is oriented. The structures controlling mineralization are north-northwest striking and steeply west dipping, so by drilling to the east we put the core across the mineralized beds rather than down them. The best copper sits in the potassic-altered sediments next to the feldspar porphyry diorite dikes, and an eastward orientation lets us cut the most of that favorable host as we pass in and out of the intrusive dikes.”

The drill core will be logged, photographed, and sampled, with selected intervals sent for assay as the program progresses. Beyond Thmei North, the company plans to focus on the Thmei South target, which requires additional auger soil geochemistry to extend the copper anomaly southward before future drilling.

Angkor Resources, through its subsidiary Angkor Gold Corp. Co., Ltd., holds two mineral exploration licenses in Cambodia with multiple copper and gold prospects. The company also operates an energy subsidiary, EnerCam Resources Co., Ltd., which holds an onshore oil and gas license covering approximately 4,095 km² in Block VIII. EnerCam completed 2D-seismic in 2025 and has identified multiple drill targets, with an Environmental Impact Assessment submitted for approval to the Ministry of Environment, paving the way for drilling Cambodia’s first privately financed onshore exploratory wells under a Production Sharing Contract.

This drilling program represents a significant step in advancing the Andong Bor project, which is part of Angkor’s broader strategy to develop mineral and energy resources in Cambodia. The company’s progress is closely watched by investors and industry observers, given Cambodia’s emerging potential as a mineral and energy producer. The results from the current program could provide critical data to delineate a copper-gold resource at Thmei North, potentially attracting further investment and development in the region.
