Western Star Resources Inc. (CSE: WSR) (OTC: WSRIF) (FRA: 4K2) has announced the addition of Dahrouge Geological Consulting to its technical team to assist in the evaluation and future exploration of the company's past-producing tungsten assets across Nevada and New Mexico. The engagement marks a significant step in Western Star's strategy to revitalize domestic tungsten supply in North America.
Blake Morgan, CEO of Western Star Resources, stated that Dahrouge has been reviewing and analyzing technical data at the past-producing Eagle Point Mine in New Mexico to define drill targets across known surface mineralization and consolidate all data into a well-developed technical presentation and model. The intermediate goal, working closely with Western Star's existing geological team, is to develop a comprehensive program to drill the historical noncompliant resource. The company intends to move towards a Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) after its initial maiden drill program in 2026. Morgan added that the board will release further news to the market as soon as possible.
Dahrouge Geological Consulting is a North American mineral exploration, consulting, and project management group with offices in Edmonton and Montreal, Canada, and Denver, Colorado. Support for Western Star will be based out of the Denver office, where the team provides regional expertise in site-specific geology and resource evaluation. Dahrouge offers professional geological, logistical, and project management services to the mining and mineral resource industry, including project generation, program design, geophysics, project evaluation, and geology and resource estimations.
Jacob Anderson, Certified Professional Geologist at Dahrouge Consulting, expressed excitement about working closely with Western Star's geological team to gain a better understanding of the geology and mineralization of the Eagle Point Mine. Anderson noted that Dahrouge will work aggressively to advance the understanding of Eagle Point's resource potential while helping to de-risk and expand the Mineral Resource of the project.
The engagement of Dahrouge is a critical move for Western Star as it seeks to become a key player in the North American tungsten supply chain. Tungsten is classified as a critical mineral by the U.S. government due to its essential role in defense, aerospace, and industrial applications, and the current supply is heavily reliant on imports. By advancing its past-producing assets, Western Star aims to address the growing need for secure domestic critical mineral supply. The company's focus on the Eagle Point Mine, which has historical production, could provide a near-term pathway to resource definition and potential development. The involvement of Dahrouge, with its extensive experience in resource evaluation, adds credibility and technical depth to the project, likely accelerating the timeline toward a drill program and eventual resource estimate.
