Trilogy Metals Applauds Federal Land Transfer to Alaska, Paving Way for Ambler Road and Critical Mineral Development

Trilogy Metals Inc. (NYSE American: TMQ) (TSX: TMQ) has welcomed the U.S. Department of the Interior's decision to transfer approximately 1.4 million acres of federal land within Alaska's Dalton Utility Corridor to the State of Alaska. The company said this move could support infrastructure development, including the proposed Ambler Road project, and help advance critical mineral exploration and development in the Ambler Mining District.

The land transfer, announced recently, is seen as a key step toward unlocking the mineral potential of the Ambler Mining District, one of the richest and most prospective known copper-dominant districts in the world. Trilogy Metals holds a 50 percent interest in Ambler Metals LLC, which owns 100 percent of the Upper Kobuk Mineral Projects (UKMP) in northwestern Alaska. South32, a globally diversified mining and metals company, holds the other 50 percent stake through a joint venture formed in December 2019.

The UKMP is located within the Ambler Mining District, which hosts polymetallic volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) deposits containing copper, zinc, lead, gold, and silver, as well as carbonate replacement deposits with high-grade copper and cobalt mineralization. Exploration efforts have focused on two deposits: the Arctic VMS deposit and the Bornite carbonate replacement deposit, both situated on a land package spanning approximately 190,929 hectares.

The proposed Ambler Road project, which would provide access to the district, has been a focal point for infrastructure development. The land transfer could streamline permitting and construction, potentially accelerating the timeline for mining operations. Trilogy Metals emphasized that the development aims to protect and respect subsistence livelihoods while creating economic opportunities.

Ambler Metals has an agreement with NANA Regional Corporation, Inc., an Alaska Native Corporation, to ensure cooperation with local communities. Trilogy Metals' vision is to develop the Ambler Mining District into a premier North American copper producer, aligning with growing demand for critical minerals used in renewable energy and electric vehicles.
