LAURION Mineral Exploration Inc. (TSX-V: LME | OTC: LMEFF | FSE: 5YD) has released assay results from drill holes LBX26-109 and LBX26-110, part of its 2026 Phase 1 diamond drilling program at the 100%-owned Ishkōday Gold and Polymetallic Project in Northwestern Ontario. The results include multiple gold and polymetallic intercepts that underscore the project's potential and have led the company to expand its planned drilling from 3,865 metres to 5,605 metres across 22 holes.
Hole LBX26-110 returned several notable intersections. A shallow interval from 80.45 to 85.00 metres graded 0.063 g/t gold, 12.29 g/t silver, 0.76% copper, and 0.16% zinc over 4.55 metres, including 1.70 metres at 0.138 g/t gold, 24.45 g/t silver, 1.56% copper, and 0.31% zinc. Deeper, a 9.90-metre interval from 205.70 to 215.60 metres averaged 0.563 g/t gold, including 2.30 metres at 1.693 g/t gold. Another zone from 184.20 to 187.90 metres graded 0.246 g/t gold, 8.04 g/t silver, 0.60% copper, and 1.08% zinc over 3.70 metres, including 1.00 metre at 0.427 g/t gold, 17.15 g/t silver, 1.18% copper, and 3.63% zinc. These deeper intervals were unexpected and provide new geological information for future evaluation. For full assay details, see the LBX26-109 Assay Summary and LBX26-110 Assay Summary.
The drilling tested targets associated with the River Shear, historical gold intercepts, and modelled mineralized horizons in underexplored areas. LBX26-109 tested an isolated chargeability anomaly in the footwall of the River Shear and along strike from high-grade historical holes 88-22 and K-56. LBX26-110 was a step-back from historical hole K-45 and also tested the area of high-grade historical intercepts in hole M1. The program is informed by SRK Consulting's independent structural gap analysis, which identified five priority target areas to address gaps in the existing drill database.
These results matter because they demonstrate the presence of a large, gold-rich base metal system that could support a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE). The expanded drilling program aims to systematically advance the A-Zone, with the goal of strengthening geological confidence and expanding the scale of the mineral system. For investors in raw materials, this indicates potential for significant new gold and base metal resources in a prolific mining region. The project covers approximately 57 km² within the Beardmore-Geraldton and Onaman-Tashota Greenstone Belts, which have a history of successful mining. LAURION's strategy emphasizes disciplined exploration and data-driven decision-making, positioning the company for long-term value creation.
As the company continues to evaluate opportunities, including potential non-dilutive initiatives such as processing historical surface stockpiles, the focus remains on building technical clarity and scale before monetization. The technical contents of the release were reviewed and approved by Dr. Trevor Boyd, Ph.D., P.Geo., a Qualified Person under NI 43-101.
