King Global Ventures Inc. (CSE: KING) (OTCQB: KGLDF) (FSE: 5LM1) is advancing exploration at its Black Canyon/Silver Cord project near Cleator, Arizona, as the U.S. government increases focus on rebuilding domestic mining workforce capacity and securing critical mineral supply chains. The company is conducting a 14,000-foot diamond drill program at the Iron Horse target to test priority geophysical anomalies for potential VMS-style sulphide mineralization within the Lower Spud Mountain Formation. Drilling, geological work, and XRF interpretation have identified prospective volcanic stratigraphy, hydrothermal alteration, feeder-style geochemical responses, and multiple marker horizons. Wedge drilling from hole IH-26-03 is being used to further test the target at depth.
Previous drilling at Silver Cord, completed in December 2025, intersected high-grade polymetallic veins containing silver, gold, lead, zinc, and antimony. One notable intersection returned 9 feet grading 619.6 g/t silver, 1.0 g/t gold, 0.6% lead, 1.05% zinc, and 375 g/t antimony. The company highlighted an Aug. 7, 2026, White House announcement outlining $100 million for 14 U.S. mining schools as part of more than $2 billion in new mining and mining-related investments and more than $180 million in mining school and workforce funding. This policy backdrop, King Global believes, could support domestic exploration companies targeting strategic minerals such as antimony.
The Black Canyon Project in Yavapai County, Arizona, comprises 213 contiguous concessions covering 4,000 acres, encompassing 15 former operating mines including the past-producing Howard Copper Mine. The property is situated 100 km (62 miles) north of Phoenix and represents an early-stage exploration opportunity targeting copper-gold-silver-zinc VMS mineralization. The geology of Yavapai County is notable for a variety of base and precious metal deposit types, with a significant history of mining operations including Bagdad, Jerome, and Cleopatra. The property is on trend and approximately 13 km (8 miles) northwest of Arizona Metals Corp.
The Howard Copper Mine Property, located on 78 acres of patented land, was discovered in the early 1920s with small-scale production focusing on high-grade copper. Historical reports indicate the main shaft was sunk to the 900-foot level, but no ore was mined below the 500-foot level.
Additionally, King Global holds the Mikwam Gold Property in Noseworthy Township within the Abitibi Greenstone Belt of northeastern Ontario. It lies along the Casa Berardi Deformation Zone, which also hosts Detour Gold's Burntbush Property. The Mikwam deposit is hosted within Timiskaming-aged polymictic conglomerate and greywacke units, containing disseminated and vein-hosted gold mineralization associated with quartz-carbonate veins and pyrite mineralization.
The federal investment in mining schools and workforce training is expected to help address a looming skills gap as the industry seeks to expand domestic production of critical minerals. For exploration companies like King Global, a stronger workforce could accelerate permitting and development timelines. The company's focus on antimony, a mineral with growing defense and technology applications, aligns with national priorities to reduce reliance on foreign sources.
