Falcon Energy Materials Opens Pilot Plant in Morocco, Advancing Battery Anode Production Outside China

Falcon Energy Materials plc (TSX-V: FLCN) (OTCQB: FLCNF) announced the opening of its pilot plant near Casablanca, Morocco, marking a crucial step in the company's plan to produce high-purity coated spheronized purified graphite (CSPG) for the global battery industry. The pilot plant, which has been relocated and installed, will produce qualification-scale CSPG samples for potential customers and generate operating data, workforce training, and process design criteria for Falcon's proposed 25,000 tonnes per annum commercial-scale anode facility.

The pilot plant is the first natural graphite CSPG pilot facility in Morocco, and commissioning of the process line is already underway. Falcon expects to produce qualification-scale CSPG samples on site in the summer of 2026, supporting sample qualification programs previously announced. The facility will also provide a training platform for plant operators, with procedures expected to be transferable to the commercial anode plant, potentially enabling a more efficient ramp-up of future operations.

Matthieu Bos, President & CEO of Falcon, stated, "The opening of our Pilot Plant in Morocco is a defining milestone for Falcon. It marks our transition from planning and procurement to operational execution and advances our goal of building a competitive battery anode supply chain outside of China." The company aims to produce CSPG samples from premium natural graphite feedstock sourced from Africa for evaluation by original equipment manufacturers and battery producers.

Falcon's strategic partnerships with leading technology firms and Tier One Moroccan partners provide access to advanced technological expertise, high-quality raw materials, and a prime geographical location. The company is focused on sustainable growth and innovation, aiming to become a premier provider of natural CSPG for energy storage solutions. The pilot plant represents a critical scale-up from laboratory testing and is an important step in de-risking the development of the commercial anode plant. Falcon remains confident in the global availability of premium graphite feedstock and continues to test alternative high-quality sources to ensure a scalable, reliable supply.
