Golden Cariboo Resources Ltd. has completed drill hole QGQ25-28 to a total length of 754.69 meters, with the hole ending in mineralization approximately 12 meters from Osisko Development Corp.'s claim boundary. The drilling was conducted at the company's Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine Property, located northeast of Hixon in British Columbia. This represents a significant extension beyond the previous drill hole QGQ25-25, which also ended in mineralization, with the new hole extending approximately 283 meters further.
The final core boxes from drill hole QGQ25-28 display veining, silicification and disseminated pyrite mineralization, though assays are still pending. Callaghan emphasized that the extension beyond the previous hole while still finishing in mineralization supports the potential for a robust system. The company is now awaiting assay results as it continues testing the extent and continuity of the mineralization system. In addition to the drilling results, Golden Cariboo has applied to register an additional 1,283.59 hectares within and adjacent to its existing 94,899-hectare land package. This expansion is intended to bolster the company's land position in preparation for future work on regional targets and testing of the northern portions of the Spanish and Eureka thrust faults.
The technical information in the announcement has been reviewed and approved by Jean Pautler, an independent consultant and Qualified Person under NI 43-101 standards. The Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property is situated along a favorable geological corridor adjacent to the Spanish and Eureka thrust faults. Historically, over 101 placer gold creeks along the 90-kilometer trend from the Cariboo Hudson mine north to the Quesnelle property have recorded production, with placer mining continuing to this day.
The geological setting of gold mineralization at the property shows strong similarities with the Spanish Mountain gold deposit, located 120 kilometers southeast along the same geological trend. As a sediment-hosted vein deposit, the Spanish Mountain deposit belongs to the epizonal orogenic subclass of gold deposits, which includes some of the world's largest deposits such as Muruntau in Uzbekistan and Bendigo in Australia. The company's expansion of both drilling results and land holdings represents continued development in a historically productive gold region.
