Angkor Resources Corp. has completed a trenching and sampling program at the CZ Gold Prospect in Ratanakiri Province, Cambodia. The program, initiated as part of ongoing exploration efforts, was designed to determine the geology, structure and orientation of a quartz stockwork zone and its wall rocks while collecting representative samples for analysis. The company excavated twelve trenches across the prospect area, each measuring approximately five meters in length, two meters in width, and five meters in depth. Due to the steep slope and required depth, excavation equipment was utilized to safely complete the work.
After digging each trench to target depth, field teams entered to collect samples directly from exposed geology including veining and stockwork visible in trench walls. Angkor collected 298 samples of veins, side walls, and cross sections from the twelve trenches. Each sample will be split into three parts for different analytical methods: one for panning in the adjacent creek, one for portable X-ray fluorescence analysis, and one for fire assay. This multi-method approach aims to provide comprehensive geochemical characterization of the stockwork zone and evaluate gold content across the target area.
The CZ Gold Prospect is located on the west side of the Canada Wall prospect within the company's Andong Meas license area. As noted in previous announcements about advancing exploration on CZ Gold and Wild Boar prospects, this work represents continued development of the company's mineral assets in Cambodia. The company completed sampling over the weekend and has begun what is expected to be several weeks of analysis before data interpretation can be finalized.
Dennis Ouellette, the company's VP Exploration and a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101, reviewed and approved the technical disclosure. The trenching program's completion marks another step in Angkor's systematic approach to evaluating its Cambodian mineral properties, which include multiple copper and gold prospects across two exploration licenses currently in their first renewal terms.
This exploration work occurs alongside the company's energy initiatives through its subsidiary EnerCam Resources, which holds an onshore oil and gas license covering over 4095 square kilometers in Cambodia. The company's dual focus on mineral and energy resources reflects its broader strategy as a resource optimizer working toward solutions across Cambodia's extractive sectors. The technical data gathered from this trenching program will inform future exploration decisions as the company continues to assess the economic potential of its Cambodian assets.
